TAIRSEACH 2014 Magazine Launched

Broadcaster and Journalist with RTÉ and Raidió na Gaeltachta, Cormac Ó hEadhra launched this year’s TAIRSEACH magazine, a publication by the 4th year Journalism and Irish students from DIT’s School of Media at an event organised in DIT Aungier St. on Wednesday 2nd April.

The range and quality of articles included in this year’s TAIRSEACH were highly commended by Ó hEadhra. An interview with Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh; the rise in the popularity of the ukulele, a look back at Raidió na Life, 20 years on air; an insight into the regional newspaper ‘The Northern Standard’; the problem of gambling discussed and Trapattoni’s legacy to Irish soccer are amongst the stories to be included in this year’s TAIRSEACH magazine.

The 3 students who produced and contributed to TAIRSEACH 2014, Tessa Pléimeann, Aimée Ní Chárthaigh and Robert O’ Reilly were praised for their professionalism and ability in producing a magazine of such a high standard by Ó hEadhra. He also praised the Irish language lecturers in the School of Media, DIT for the success of TAIRSEACH as an initiative in its 7th year of publication.

Congratulations to all concerned and TAIRSEACH 2014 can be downloaded at http://dit.ie/oifignagaeilge/en/news/ or hard copies are available by emailing gaeilge@dit.ie.
