Terminal One - An international performance collaboration created by students from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and Columbia College Chicago

23 January, 2014 – 25 January, 2014

Peter McDermott , DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama

Brian Shaw, Columbia College Chicago

Opening on Thursday, 23 January in the Theatre, DIT Rathmines Road isTerminal One, a new piece of theatre exploring the dynamics of travel.   Terminal One has been created by six actors from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and six actors from the Columbia College Chicago. Progress has been shared remotely via Skype, Facebook and Dropbox. The full cast will meet face-to-face for the first time in Dublin during the last week of rehearsals to put the final piece together. Immediately after the Dublin performances, the group will travel to Chicago to perform it there.  This performance project is itself an expression of reaching into the unknown: the exciting, scary dynamics of travel and exchange. What compels us to leave? What does it mean to arrive in an unknown place? What happens in between? And how are we changed when we are ‘away’?
