Witness Wild Inspiration with the Vodafone DIT Fashion Show

20 March 2014:    One of the biggest and most exciting events on the DIT calendar, the Vodafone DIT Fashion Show takes place in Vicar Street on Thursday, 03rd April, 2014.  Now in its 11th year, the theme for this year’s Vodafone DIT Fashion Show is “‘Enchanted Forest; Hidden Nature’”.

The Vodafone DIT Student Design Competition is going to be fiercely contested this year, as the judges will have to make a selection from 17 student designers at the semi final on the 25th of March in Smock Ally to go forward to the final in Vicar Street. The overall winner will be announced on the night of the show, receiving a cash prize of €2,500 and a trophy.

The DIT Fashion Show is run entirely by students from DIT and indeed this year nearly 70 current DIT students are involved in the Show.  The DIT Fashion Show was started in 2003 by four enthusiastic second year students - Ciara O' Donovan, Andrea Byrne, Julie Sheehan and Lou Conlon.  Now an annual event, and in its 11th year, the show has grown from strength to strength and is now seen as a nationally anticipated charity event, with an exciting high-energy national Student Design Award. The show itself has won numerous awards including DIT Society Awards and National BICS awards.

Vodafone Ireland are once again on board as title sponsor reaffirming their commitment to nurturing the young fashion talent in Ireland. While Spin 1038, Tony and Guy and Make up forever have also kindly sponsored the show.  Celebrity judges this year include Umut Kutluk, Brendan Courtney, Maria Fusco, Bairbre Power, Lou Conlon and Jules Fallon.

Tickets for the show are in high demand as always and are available to purchase from Eventbrite or in any of the DIT Student Union Shops and cost €20 or €15 for students.

With the best in forward thinking fashion, and dance talent involved in the show, it is definitely a night not to be missed!  For more see www.ditfashionshow.ie and http://ditfashionshow.blogspot.com/

The DIT Fashion Society is one of 80 societies in DIT. The Societies of DIT altogether have over 6,000 student members in total. All societies place heavy emphasis on the experience students gain from managing and participating in productions, campaigns and events, such as the Vodafone DIT Fashion Show.
