Lord Mayor supports student fundraiser for Pieta House

Posted: 20 October, 2015

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Críona Ní Dhálaigh visited DIT Grangegorman today to support the Dublin Cycling Campaign to stop bike theft. While she was on campus, students of Social Care took the opportunity to invite her in to their cake sale fund-raiser on behalf of Pieta House.

According to 3rd year student Qusair Mahomed, “Cindy O’Connor from Pieta House came out to give a talk to 3rd Year students, so our class wanted to fundraise with a cake sale to give something back to their organisation.”

In addition to delicious cakes, the students also procured two signed copies of Chef Nevan Maguire’s latest book, “Healthy Food”.
