Careers Fair for Engineering and Built Environment

The DIT Career Development Centre ran two highly successful careers fairs this month in Bolton Street, connecting employers with students studying in all disciplines within Engineering and Built Environment.


The first event was attended by twelve major construction and engi‌‌neering companies; the second was focused on companies seeking to recruit students for roles in engineering, transport and supply chain logistics. 


Carol Kelehan, Careers Adviser, said the events created a real buzz on campus and were extremely beneficial for both students and employers.

These companies were providing not just jobs for final year students, but placement opportunities for 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. They were delighted with the opportunity to market their organisations to the students. 

The response was overwhelming on both days. The common area was thronged with students, especially through lunchtimes. 


For the students it gave them the chance to meet employers face to face, and to find out from staff, what it’s really like to work in these organisations.  It helped to focus their mind and got them to think about options available to them on graduation.”
