IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES and IRISH LANGUAGE CONVERSATION GROUPS are taking place again this Spring in 5 DIT locations organised by Oifig na Gaeilge, DIT’s Irish Language Office, with the support of the Staff Training and Development Office.
Classes will be held for staff and students alike and will consist of a range of levels, from complete beginners to intermediate level. The classes are free of charge to all.
Additionally, please feel free to pop along to a casual conversation group ‘Gaeilge & Caife’for some coffee and chatter as Gaeilge in Aungier St., Grangegorman, Bolton St. or Cathal Brugha St. one morning a week – please see our new timetable to see what suits you best! You might be surprised at how much of the language you already know…..
All classes will run for 8 weeks from the week beginning the 25 January 2016 and you can register here
We are also in the process of developing a new type of class, Practical Irish in the Workplace, for the first time, which will be designed to develop staff core skills necessary for Irish language service provision throughout the Institute. Classes involving a wide range of role-play scenarios, practical language skills and the role of Irish in the workplace (i.e. obligations under The Official Languages Act) are some of the aspects which will be covered in this course. If you are interested in this course, please tick the ‘Practical Irish in the Workplace’ box on the registration form here
