A team of five DIT students of International Hospitality Management has won the 31st Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI) National Hospitality Business Management Game 2016.
Competing against six teams of young hospitality managers of the future from all over Ireland, the team scored top marks in the competition which took place in the Croke Park Hotel. Led by lecturers Mr. Clem Ryan and Dr. John Ryan from the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism, the team included Captain Conor Bartley, Shane Browne, Paul Fitzsimons, Caroline McDevitt and Katie Scanlan.
The team members are now looking forward to enjoying their prize, which was sponsored by Ambassade de France en Irlande and Classic Drinks Ltd. It includes an invitation to the Ambassade de France Residence in Dublin, where internationally renowned sommelier Anne Roque of Domaine Laroche Wines will introduce them to the wines of the Chablis Region. In addition, they will then be flown to Domaine Laroche to experience the workings of the vineyards and winery at first hand!
The IHI Business Management Game is sponsored by the Doyle Group, and is supported by the Irish Hotels Federatin, HOTS and Foras na Gaeilge.
