The DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble perform a lunchtime concert at the National Concert Hall on Friday 29 April, 1.05pm.
With over 20 musicians on stage, the concert will feature some of Ireland’s finest young musical talent studying on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
The DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble is developed in an innovative and challenging way, resulting in musical performances and recordings that are at the forefront of the musical tradition today. Recent highlights include performances on RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House, the Dublin International Game Music Festival, the Opening Concert of the prestigious Temple Bar TradFest, collaborative performances with the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, China Conservatory of Music, the Chinese Embassy of Ireland, the Moroccan Embassy of Ireland, and the Korean Embassy of Ireland, a live radio and online broadcast for National Music Day with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, a televised O2 Arena performance with the Notre Dame Marching Band, and tours of Louvain (Belgium), Rome and Savannah, Georgia, USA.
The ensemble is directed by Odhrán Ó Casaide, Kieran Hanrahan and Tom Doorley.
