DIT artist?s work shortlisted by Irish Times

Dr. Brian Fay, artist and head of Fine Art in DIT, is among the final ten artists and writers whose work has been selected by the Irish Times as part of the series ?Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks?.

The final shortlist is open to the public to vote for the piece of literature or the visual arts that they feel best represents 2015. 

Brian's drawing is called "Crack Drawing: Vermeer Woman in Blue Reading a Letter 1662-65".    Brian has used a conservator's image of the original painting, in which the cracks and dust of time are equivalent to time's wrinkles on a human face.
