Bringing the Sea to the Garden - DIT final year Student Emma Connell has been selected to exhibit her work ‘Deep Sea’ in this year’s ‘Sculpture in Context’ in Botanic Gardens

A final year student on DIT’s BA Visual Merchandising & Display, Emma Connell has been selected to exhibit her work in this year’s ‘Sculpture in Context’ in Botanic Gardens.

Speaking about her work entitled ‘Deep Sea’ Emma said:  “I created a headpiece from gathered sea debris, fabric, moss, etc.  With the materials collected, I really wanted to make the statue look like it had been under water so long it was almost blending into the seabed.”

Sculpture in Context is the largest and most prestigious outdoor sculpture exhibition in Ireland. Open to the public, this year’s exhibition runs from 8th of September to the 21st October in Botanic Gardens.
