The newly elected Lord Mayor of Dublin City, Cllr Brendan Carr visited the Grangegorman campus yesterday.

Cllr Carr, who represents the Dublin 7 area on the City Council, is very familiar with the Grangegorman site.  He was welcomed by Mr. Ger Casey, CEO of the Grangegorman Development Agency and Dr. Paul Horan, Head of Campus Planning for DIT.  Following a briefing about the current stage of development, Cllr Carr was given a brief tour of the campus.

Professor Brian O'Neill, Director of Research, Enterprise and Innovation Services met the group at the Greenway Hub and brought the Lord Mayor on a tour of the state of the art research and innovation facility, and presented him with a copy of a book describing the history of the site and detailing the masterplan for the development.  From the vantage point of the fourth floor balcony of the Greenway Hub Mr. Casey explained the location of the next stages of construction which are due to commence in the coming months.
