DIT Societies Xmas Appeal 2016Posted: 1 December, 2016
Every year the DIT Societies with the support of the DIT Societies office run a Xmas appeal in support of three charities. “In a time when Dublin is facing its biggest housing and homelessness crisis in our history, DIT students have decided to support organisations that work to help individiuals impacted by this crisis. DIT students know that our contribution to needy families and children will make a real and lasting difference this Christmas.”
This year students have chosen to support Saint Vincent de Paul, Focus Ireland and The Dublin Simon Community – watch the Xmas Appeal video. The appeal got underway on November 21st and runs until December 7th so there is still a little time left to get involved:
- Contribute a gift or food donation to the Giving-Tree campaign
You have an oppurtunity to help parents feel less stretched over christmas by providing a gift for their child to open on Christmas day. Each DIT campus has an SVP Giving-tree with instructions on how to make a food or gift donation. Get together with friends, select a tag from the tree and buy a gift or a voucher suitable for the age or gender on the tag. http://www.dit.ie/societies/ditxmasappeal2016/ insert website giving tree image
- Get involved with the many Society events happening accross campus
Each student Society is hosting an event in support of the Xmas appeal. The events are as varied as the Societies and represent the many different interests and activities the students are involved in. Keep an eye out for these events and please support them when you can – all proceeds from these events goes to the DIT Xmas appeal!
- Buy a raffle ticket to support the appeal
Students and staff will be selling raffle tickets in support of the appeal. Tickets also available from the DIT Societies Office. Please buy a raffle ticket and support our effort. You could win some fantastic prizes and your contibuting to the impact we are making together.
Together we can make a difference this christmas
