DIT graduate is BIFM ‘Young Professional of the Year’Posted: 21 December, 2016
DIT graduate Bernie McManamon, a facilities management professional from Sodexo Ireland, has been named the Facilities Management Young Professional of the Year for 2016
She was presented with the award at the annual BIFM Ireland Facilities Management Summit in Croke Park earlier this month.
A DIT engineering graduate, Bernie joined Sodexo in June of this year. As General Services Manager at Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal in Ballina, Co. Mayo she is leading the team that is delivering full facilities management services at the Gas Terminal, from catering and cleaning to horticultural services.
Bernie has been an enthusiastic supporter of Engineers Week for the past five years, organising sessions with local schools to talk about her experiences and promoting engineering and facilities management as a great career. She has spoken at events organised by Young Engineers Society and was also a guest speaker at the European Young Engineers Conference.
Congratulating her on her Award, Margot Slattery, President of Sodexo Ireland, said “We are delighted that Bernie has been recognised at the BIFM Awards.
