DIT joins the European Cycling Challenge 2017

Posted: 24 April, 2017

As part of our commitment to becoming a sustainable campus, DIT will be participating in the European Cycling Challenge 2017 during the month of May and everyone is invited to join!

The European Cycle Challenge was launched in 2012 by the University of Bologna. It is an urban cyclists’ team competition and it takes place this year from 01 to 31 May 2017.

This year, for the third time, Dublin is participating in the Challenge. This is your chance to help Dublin compete with other cities in Europe to be the city that will cycle the most kilometres during the month of May.

As DIT is a partner in the Smarter Travel Workplaces programme, in addition to joining Team Dublin, you can join your workplace sub-team – TEAM DIT.  There is both a staff and student team and during the month we will have spot prizes for participants.

All journeys made by bicycle instead of other means of transportation (such as car, motorcycle or any engine powered vehicles) are accepted. For instance: journeys to and from workplace, school, to shopping, to go to the cinema, etc… are valid journeys

To register, simply go to . You can also download the free Naviki app to your smartphone.  Naviki will track your bike journeys during the Challenge. If you have already registered – thank you, and make sure you join the DIT sub-team.

Let’s go Team DIT!
