DIT beat UCD to progress to the Fitzgibbon Cup semi-finals

The DIT Men’s Hurling side beat UCD in a tight contest at Belfield to make it to the semi-finals of the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup. DIT will now meet DCU in the semi-finals on Tuesday, 13 February in Parnell Park at 7pm.

It was a close game with DIT and UCD level ten times throughout and no goals scored. Westmeath county player Niall O’Brien scored half of DIT’s opening tally, with two of his four points coming from frees, and one from a 65.

By the 40th minute, both sides were level again with 13 points each, but it was three frees from DIT’s Niall O’Brien and a final point from Dublin’s Conor Ryan that won the game for DIT in style. The semi-final game against DCU will take place on Tuesday, 13 in Parnell Park at 7pm.
