DIT international students celebrate inaugural direct flight from Dublin to Beijing

Third-year event management students from DIT recently visited Dublin Airport to mark the inaugural direct flight from Dublin to Beijing by the carrier Hainan Airlines.

DIT international event management students with Mr Ryan Zhang (Hainan Airlines, General Manager for Ireland), Mr Jon Woolfe (Dublin Airport VP and Ms Catherine Powers (Glen Keen Farm, Proprietor).

These students are participating in a collaboration between Hainan University (HNU) and the School of Hospitality Management & Tourism in DIT, whereby students have the option to complete two years in Hainan and either transfer to the final two years in DIT or complete their full programme of study in Hainan. Students completing either option are awarded a joint DIT-HNU award in Event Management. This group of students will be the first class to graduate under this collaboration

DIT staff travel each semester to Hainan to deliver significant portions of the programme and HNU provide dedicated staff offices, classrooms and computer rooms for students participating in this joint programme.
