DIT students are leaders of tomorrowPosted: 7 September, 2018
Two DIT students Claire Nicholl and Ciaran Conlon have won Accenture’s Leaders of Tomorrow summer accelerator programme. The pair were recognised for their work developing an app called Compensave which uses gamification to make saving money fun.
The team, which is also made up of students Bébhínn Sheridan (IADT) and Callum McDonnell (TCD), met at a Leaders of Tomorrow workshop organised by Accenture to bring together like-minded individuals from different Higher Learning institutions. Claire is a Master’s in Business and Entrepreneurship student while Ciaran is studying Product Design.
Mentors in Accenture challenged the team to refine their app idea down to one sentence which is something they are still struggling to do successfully but are getting closer as they gain a better understanding of what they want to be as a service.
The next step for Compensave is to secure funding so the team can develop a prototype and progress their idea. They insist that this is just the beginning for them and the sky is the limit for a team that has come on leaps and bounds since their inception a few short months ago.
