John Sisk & Sons Host Access to Apprenticeships Students

Posted: 10 May, 2019

A massive thank you to Dave Tracey and all the team at the John G Sisk Training Centre for putting on a brilliant joinery workshop for our TU Dublin Access to Apprenticeship students on Friday.

Working under the guidance of Sisk apprentices, the students demonstrated great teamwork, focus and skill to produce 15 flower planter boxes from scratch! Thanks to Sisk for a fantastic hands-on learning experience in a first-class facility under the guidance of people who are passionate about what they do.

The Access to Apprenticeship Programme is for young men and women aged 16 to 24 living in Dublin who experience social and economic barriers. During the programme, students have a chance to:

  • Sample a range of apprenticeships in Construction, Engineering, Electrical, Motor and Aviation industries
  • Prepare their CV and practice their interview skills
  • Undertake two weeks of work experience
  • Complete Health & Safety training and receive a Safe Pass Certificate

The next 12-week course will start in September 2019, and the following course will begin in January 2020. If you would like to find out more about the Access to Apprenticeship Programme and the application process, please visit our website
