Posted: 27 June, 2019

Graduates of three programmes, run collaboratively between TU Dublin and Nanjing Tech University, were conferred with their awards at a ceremony in Nanjing on 21st June.

Professor David FitzPatrick, President, presented the awards on behalf of TU Dublin.  During his visit to the University, Professor FitzPatrick and Professor Qiao Xu, President of Nanjing Tech University, held a bilateral meeting at which the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding to extend the existing collaboration to include Development and Training of Doctoral students.

The awards conferred at the ceremony were Honours Bachelor Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Pharmaceutical Science.   While this was the first TU Dublin conferring for graduates of these programmes, the collaboration with Nanjing Tech University commenced in 2008 with what was then Institute of Technology Tallaght.  The first students graduated in 2012, and the class of 2019 are the 8th graduating class from the Joint Programs.
