BioPhysics and Environmental Physics

Dr Pat Goodman


The BioPhysics research group in the School of Physics comprises Dr Pat Goodman, Dr Matthew Hussey and Dr Thomas Grennan. Pat Goodman is involved in a number of Medical Physics related research projects, particularly in the area of Physiological measurement.

Environmental Physics

In 1999 Pat Goodman completed a PhD study into the health effects of particulate air pollution in Ireland. He received grant funding from the USEPA towards some of this work to facilitate a collaborative study with the Harvard School of Public Health. Funding from other sources was also received towards this research into the health effects of particulate pollution. Pat has made a number of presentations on the findings of these studies, and is currently submitting some of this work for publication. This research was conducted with Dr Luke Clancy, Consultant in Respiratory medicine at St James's hospital Dublin.
