Introduction

This programme is offered in conjunction with the Summit Finuas Network to honours graduates (or professional equivalents) that have experience in the financial services industry. The programme operates on a work-based learning philosophy with assignments based in the industry. It aims to aims to develop your analysis, business, legal and regulatory skills and competencies through a mixture of academic and practitioner-led modules on the key aspects of the financial services industry as they relate to securitisation.

Timetable / Hours

Delivery is on a part-time evening basis mainly on Monday and Tuesday evenings (6.00 – 10.00). An occasional module may be delivered as 9.00am – 5.00pm given availability of industry specialists though this will be predominantly on Saturdays. There will be no more than four of these for the entire programme. There are four evening sessions per module spread throughout the academic year, as well as an induction seminar in November 2011. All modules are assessed by project work relevant to the industry.

Entry Requirements

An honours degree (2H2 or higher) from a recognised degree awarding institution either in Ireland or elsewhere, or an equivalent professional qualification. Candidates will also be expected to have experience in the financial services industry.

Candidates who do not meet these requirements but have significant experience in the sector may be accepted onto the programme on a case by case basis.

Award

Graduates will be eligible for the award of a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services (Securitisation).

Career Opportunities

Graduates will have enhanced career prospects for a wide variety of careers in the Financial Services Sector. Graduates will have the skill set to enter the industry in different roles either working with financial institutions or in a finance role within an organisation. Opportunities also exist for further study at Masters level at DIT.
