Start date
The MA in Law usually begins in October, after the Autumn sitting of the FE-1 exams at the Law Society.
FOR GRADUATES OF THE DIT PgDip in Law
The MA in Law is only available to students who complete the DIT PgDip in Law at the required level (typically, a 2.2 is required in the PgDip).
The MA in Law is deemed a full-time or part-time programme (the choice is up to the student). There is one taught module, in advanced research methods, and the student is expected to devote full-time effort to the completion of a 15,000 - 20,000 word thesis under the supervision of a law lecturer.
Students have found that they can complete the required thesis within the allocated time frame while employed on a full or part-time basis.
There is an upper limit of 20 students on the MA in Law.
Successful students will have a superior piece of written work reflecting a sustained period of legal research to show to prospective employers.
