Candidates must have obtained a primary degree classification equivalent to Upper Second Class Honours (2.1) or above, from an approved University or an approved equivalent degree-awarding body in an area cognate to the proposed research topic. This scheme is open to students not in receipt of any other form of scholarship, either from Dublin Institute of Technology or a national/international scheme.
There will be a maximum of 8 awards per annum, 2 in each of the following research thematic areas:
- Environment and Health
- Information and Media Technologies
- New Materials and Technologies
- Society, Culture and Enterprise
The awards offer support to non-EU postgraduate research students to undertake a full time PhD programme and take the form of a contribution of €4,500 towards the non-EU tuition fee. The balance of the tuition fee, living expenses and all other costs must be self-funded by the student.
