Competition Rules

-
Team membership cannot change throughout the course of the competition.
-
Submitted plans must be the work of the team concerned and should include an innovative dimension. Teams are encouraged to seek assistance and advice from lecturers and experts in the relevant field(s).
- The cover page of the plan must include a statement asserting that the content is the work of the team.
- The plan must include some original market research.
- Any reference to special arrangements such as funding or other support from third parties must be amenable to validation.
- The length of completed business plans should be no more than 4,000 words or approximately 12 to 15 pages plus appendices. The latter would typically include copies of accounts, surveys and supporting documentation generally. This document (business plan plus appendices) remains the subject of the competition for adjudication purposes.
- Those teams short-listed for the quarter finals and semi-finals of the competition will be required to make a 10 minute presentation of their plan. This presentation may augment the formal document but must be based on the submitted business plan.
- Teams who are successful at the quarter-final stages may update their business plans following feedback from adjudicators. However, an electronic copy of updated plans must be submitted to bizplan@dit.ie before March 14th. More details will be given to the short-listed teams.
