Welcome
Welcome to Research and Enterprise at DIT
Dublin Institute of Technology is a modern technological university providing professional education to doctoral level. It blends the academic excellence of a traditional university with career-focussed learning, discovery and the application of knowledge. DIT is listed among the top 3% of the world’s universities according to the Times Higher Education - QS World University Rankings.
We emphasize intellectually and strategically important research, which makes a distinctive, relevant and useful contribution to advance human knowledge. We are committed to making Dublin Ireland’s knowledge gateway while being internationally-focused and globally engaged.
To actively sustain Ireland’s social, cultural, technological and economic development, knowledge and technology transfer are embedded in all our programmes and activities. We actively encourage and support the development of new business ventures and continuing professional development opportunities. Our PhD programmes provide research training and professional transferable skills within a disciplinary framework.
To strengthen our position, we have strategically clustered our activity around six signature themes, which are aligned to interdisciplinary Research Institutes and Research Centres.
- Information & Media Technologies
- New Materials & Technologies
- Environment & Health
- Society, Culture & Enterprise
To further these aims, we are planning a collaborative, interdisciplinary Research and Science Park at our new campus at Grangegorman, Dublin, in partnership with the Health Services Executive (HSE) and Dublin City Council (DCC).
Whether you are a member of DIT, a research partner or potential graduate student, we welcome your engagement with us, and look forward to hearing from you.
