Professor Max Ammann is Assistant Head of the
School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Head of the Antenna & High Frequency Research Centre. He joined DIT in 1986 following eight years of radio systems engineering and antenna design with TCL/Philips Radio Communications Systems in Dublin, where he was responsible for commissioning the Nationwide Communications Network for An Garda Síochána. He received his Ph.D. in antennas and propagation from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He became a Chartered Engineer in 1986, a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 1996 and is now a Senior Member IEEE. He was appointed senior lecturer in 2003, honorary professor in 2012 and assistant Head of School in 2015. Professor Ammann is a Principal Investigator in the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications.
