English as a Second Language
The School of Languages warmly welcomes non-native speakers of English.
DT558 is a BA Degree in International Business and Languages designed specifically for students whose mother tongue is neither English nor Irish. Applicants to the course come from Europe and from other parts of the world. They also include recent immigrants to Ireland who have sat or who will sit the Irish Leaving Certificate. Ideal candidates to DT558 will have an Upper Intermediate command of English, and will be interested in further developing their learning of the English language. An interest in International Business is also necessary.
Students enrolled in this programme will attend Business classes and English classes. They will also be required to study a minor language from beginner’s level.
The School offers a supportive and friendly learning environment. Class sizes in languages are small. Lecturers are both highly competent and approachable.
