Languages in the Faculty of Tourism & Food
Language is taught on a wide range of programmes in the Faculty of Tourism & Food. Learning a language for specific professional purposes is very different from learning a language at second-level. Whether you are studying in the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism or in the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology, a language is a valuable asset for your future career.
Languages are a core part of the learning experience in the first two years of most degree programmes in the Faculty of Tourism & Food :

Students who opt to continue studying a language after second year may choose from a wide variety of modules that are oriented towards their specific careers and professions. Language is also offered as an option or as an elective on many of the postgraduate, certificate and diploma programmes. Students may also avail of the opportunity to study or work abroad through participation in the Erasmus programmes.
Our aim here is to develop your language skills and confidence in a way that allows you to communicate professionally effectively. We also want you to thoroughly enjoy and benefit from learning a language for your career in the Hospitality and Tourism Sector.
