MA Public Relations

The Master of Arts in Public Relations is recognized internationally. It is a one-year full time programme combining lectures, project work, the production of an academic dissertation and work experience with a view to preparing students for a successful career in public relations.

Upon completion of the course, graduates will have a thorough understanding of public relations and the issues confronting it in the modern world. The course boasts a particular emphasis on the theory and practice of public relations as a function of strategic management.

The MA in Public Relations at DIT is recognised by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, (PRII) and the UK-based Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). It is the only public relations programme recognised by the CIPR in the Republic of Ireland. It is the first EuropeanPR qualification to be recognised by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The programme has also been accredited by the European Public Relations Confederation (CERP) of which the national public relations associations in 26 European countries are members.

The programme enjoys the active support of public relations professionals throughout Ireland by their participation in guest lectures, student seminars, research and work placement programmes. Many prominent practitioners offer prizes at graduation to the most successful graduates.
