Ann McWilliams


Ann McWilliams, M.Sc., B. Soc. Sc., C.Q.S.W., D.A.S.S., R.G. N., Post Grad. Dip. in Third Level Teaching and Learning

Ann has been working as a Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences since 2007. Previously, she was Project Leader for the Social Care Education and Training Project in DIT (2002-2007). Ann is currently lecturing on safeguarding children, risk, protection and resilience of children and vulnerable adults,  practicing teaching and learning, reflective practice, and principles of professional practice. Previously, she held a number of posts in the HSE such as a Training and Development Co-ordinator and Principal Social Worker in fostering and adoption and community care.

Her current research interest concerns 'race' and ethnicity and the implication for long-term foster care in Ireland today.
