TU Dublin City Campus has put in place for all its undergraduate programmes an academic entrance route for elite sportspersons. In recognition of the competition and training commitments of aspiring elite athletes, successful applicants will be offered up to a maximum of 10% or 45 additional CAO points for admission to all undergraduate programmes.

A limited number of places will be reserved for outstanding candidates who have achieved a very high level of sporting performance and who have identifiable potential for further improvement.

A package of support services is offered to students on entry to TU Dublin City Campus that includes access to strength and conditioning, academic mentoring (flexible study options), physiotherapy, nutrition, performance skills workshops and high performance training facilities. Christina Hamill – Irish International Hockey Player

“I was awarded extra CAO points through the Elite Athlete Academic Entry Scheme at TU Dublin City Campus. Access to this programme allows me to avail of world class gym facilities and practical supports which allow me to balance my academic activity with my training activities. The support of my fellow athletes and the staff in TU Dublin will help me to remain focused on my objective for 2019, selection for the Irish U21 squad for the European championships in Valencia in July.”
