Description

This is available to Springboard 2011 applicants as a one-year top-up programme, providing a path to upgrade a Level 7 qualification such as a BSc (Ordinary) in Computing or a related discipline to BSc (Honours).

Springboard 2011 applicants who hold a Level 6 qualification who wish to complete this programme are advised to apply for BSc (Ordinary) Information Systems and Information Technology (DT770), upon completion of which they can apply to advance to this programme.

Alternative programmes at level 6 (Higher Certificate Science and Technology (DT761), Higher Certificate Computing (DT263)) are available to students without qualifications in Computing. Also, programmes at level 9 (MSc Computing (DT217), Postgraduate Certificate in Software Development (DT231A)) are available to applicants who hold a Level 8 qualification in a discipline other than Computing and wish to gain a qualification in Computing.

This is also available to fee paying applicants who can apply to enter the four stage programme at any level.

Course Duration

Students can top up from Level 7 to Level 8 in one year.

In full, this is a four year degree programme. Applications are invited through Springboard 2011 for students wishing to enter the final stage. Such applicants must already possess a relevant Level 7 qualification.

Progression

Graduates of this programme are eligible to apply for admission to postgraduate programmes in the Dublin Institute of Technology and elsewhere. The School of Computing currently offers a range of postgraduate programmes

Entry requirements

This is a programme at Level 8 on the NFQ, and as such, applicants must have a qualification such as BSc (Ordinary) in Computing, Information Technology or similar at Level 7.
