Description:
This CPD Diploma in Food Product Development Stage 1 is a level 6 Programme on the NFQ and promotes entry level careers as food product development practitioners. The requirements of a CPD Diploma programme offer a broader and more general range of skills and knowledge in terms of managing and organizing food product development and innovation. This programme is designed primarily to enable students to enter the food product development sector and will allow them to demonstrate abilities in the development, preparation and presentation of innovative food products in a safe, healthy and nutritious manner. Students will recognise the need for products that are cost effective and efficient in a wide variety of settings (food production, retail, farmers markets, catering establishments etc). This allows the curriculum design to be flexible in meeting the needs of a professional discipline and includes the domains of knowledge, practice and individual student needs.

Entry requirements:
Irish Leaving Certificate in five subjects with at least Grade OD3 or higher on ordinary or higher level subjects. Results must include Mathematics and Irish or English. At least ordinary level OD3 in French, German, Spanish, Irish or Italian Or An equivalent
