Description:
The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis & Retrofit (PG Cert DAR) is a 1 year part time programme which has been designed to enable qualified architects and architectural technologists to develop skills centered on digital analysis, energy performance and retrofitting of existing buildings through the medium of Building Information Modeling (BIM). This programme is centered on modules in‘’Digital Analysis’’, ‘’Energy Analysis’’ and ‘’Sustainable Building Technologies’’.

The PG Cert DAR programme will provide architects and architectural technologists with an additional skill set centred on building retrofit design which will improve their employment prospects both as employees in architectural practices requiring skills in the use of predictive performance applications such as BIM and related analytical packages, but also as prospective self-employed consultant architects and architectural technologists capable of providing a range of technical design services in the area of digital analysis, energy performance and retrofitting of existing buildings through the medium of Building Information Modelling.

Entry requirements:
The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis & Retrofit programme is open to the following categories of applicants:
Architects who are members of, or who are eligible to be members of, the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).
Architectural technologists who are architectural technologist members of, or who are eligible to be architectural technologist members of, the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).
All applicants are required to confirm that they have the ICT skills necessary to engage in the programme.
