Description:
This is a 60 ECTS credits postgraduate part-time evening programme in applied mathematics and theoretical physics taken over two academic years.
The programme has been developed into a mathematical programme at the highest technical level that addresses the requirement of employers for specialist skills in mathematical application in business and industry.
Graduates of this programme will be able to use high level analytical and problem solving skills in appropriate technical and scientific contexts. The programme produces graduates with a capacity for independent study; are in a position to undertake lead roles in mathematical analysis and modelling for business and industry; and who are well placed to progress to postgraduate research at NFQ level 10.

Entry requirements:
The entry requirements are:
(a) a DIT BSc (Honours) in Mathematics at Grade 2.2 or higher,
or
(b) Other Honours degree with Mathematics or Mathematical Physics as a main subject at Grade 2.2 or higher,
or
(c) Any other such qualification that the Institute may deem equivalent, the Institute guidelines for the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be applied.
Applications will be assessed individually based upon examination results, transcripts from previous study and evidence of certificated/non-certificated additional learning.
