Description:
The programme has been developed into a well-balanced, broad-based mathematical programme that addresses the central needs and skills that employers require in the modern, technical workforce. It combines elements of statistics, modelling, and applied mathematics together with the technical skills to perform the analytical requirements particularly in the financial and business sectors. Students acquire ICT skills and knowledge that is pertinent and focused towards their use in the workplace.

Graduates of this programme will have acquired high level analytical and problem-solving skills in mathematics and be in a strong position to embark on careers in industry, finance, commerce and the business. Honours Mathematics graduates from the programme will also be eligible to apply for places on the taught postgraduate programmes and postgraduate mathematics degrees by research in DIT.

Entry requirements:
Entrants to this programme should hold a NFQ level 7 qualification including a substantial mathematical component (or equivalent) and a demonstrated ability, or clear potential, to apply advanced mathematics to real-world problems. The Institute guidelines for the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be applied.
Applications will be assessed individually based upon examination results, transcripts from previous study and evidence of certificated/non-certificated additional learning.
