Activating Your Online Accounts and Managing your PINs

At DIT we have a number of Self Service Systems that students can use to pay fees, check exam result and select modules to name but a few. What is great about out our online services is the PIN management feature, the systems are set up in a user friendly manner so you can reset your pin easily should you forget it.

Below we answer the most frequently asked questions from Students on how access the system for the first time and what to do if have forgotten of locked your PIN.

Accessing Your Exam Results

Each registered student is automatically set up with a Login and Password for the self service system, you can access your exam results in this system as well as selecting your modules.   Each student is set up with a default login, this is your Student ID number and the password is your six digit date of birth.  You will be prompted to change this when you first sign in.  For full instructions on how to activate your self service account please access the How to Activate your Self Service Account User Guide. 

Your pin may have been disabled for a variety of reasons:

 

Pin Incorrect

If you have forgotten your pin or are not able to access the system it may be worth trying to reset it to ensure your have a working pin. Click the Forgot Pin Option in the self service system. 

If you have tried to log in but have made too many attempts and your pin is now locked, You need to contact the registration service at 01-4024663 or email registration.service@dit.ie. 

Fees not Paid in Full

Students who have not paid their fees in full will not be able to access the self service system. 

 

Pin Locked – unsure why

 

On occasion there may be a technical reason as to why your pin is locked, in this case contact your local exams office.

Exam Results can be checked in the Self Service System, you will need your User ID, which is your Student ID number and your password.  When you logged on to the system for the first time you were prompted to change your pin and set up a forgot Pin question to prompt you in the future should you forget your pin.

 

If you have forgotten your pin you reset it using the forgot pin button on the home screen of the self service system, full detailed is outlined in the Self Service - Reset Pin Guide.

Accessing the Module Selection System

Each registered student is automatically set up with a Login and Password for the self service system.  The Login is your Student ID number and the password is your six digit date of birth.  You will be prompted to change this when you first sign in.  For full instructions on how to activate your self service account please access the How to Activate your Self Service Account  

You should follow the instructions outlined in the email very carefully, you need to ensure you the correct modules are on your record so your exam resulst can be recorded correctly.

Firstly:  Login to the Self Service System , you will need your student ID can your Pin to do this.  If you cannot remember your pin use the Forgot Pin Option.

Accessing the Register & Pay System

In order to access the Register & Pay System  for the first time you must be invited to Register by DIT Registration Service .  Your inviation will come in the form of a letter and will detail your Student ID Number and your pin which will allow you to gain initial access to the system.  If you have misplaced your Inviation to Register or are not yet in receipt of it you can contact DIT Registration Service for help.
