Undergraduate Application Processing
When we receive your completed application the International Office will endeavour to make a decision within five (5) working days. Please remember that the office is closed during public and college holidays which may differ from your home country.

Advanced Entry Application Processing
When we receive your completed application the International Office will (1) assess your level of English and (2) refer the decision to the Programme Chair, who will make a decision about your suitability for advanced entry. This normally will take more than five working days but is outside the control of the International Office.

Postgraduate Application Processing

Letters of Offer
When a decision is made about your application an email will be sent to the email account registered with your application. This email is your letter of offer. If you require a “hard copy” for a scholarship body please send your request to ug.international@dit.ie (Undergraduate Applications ) or pg.international@dit.ie (Postgraduate Applications).
Accepting Your Place
Once you decide to accept your place in DIT please email international@dit.ie confirming your acceptance and quote your Tracking Number (DIT12-XXXX). In this way we can process your acceptance quicker.
Payment of Fees
All international fees should be paid through DITs international payment partner Pay To Study. This is a secure system that ensures prompt payment, allows us to issue receipt letters within 48 hours and ensures you the student/sponsor does not incur additional exchange charges.
Student Visa Regulations
Students who hold passports from the following countries DO NOT REQUIRE an entry visa, but are required to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) within 90 days of arriving in Ireland. There is a charge of €150 for registering with the GNIB.
In addition, passport holders from the European Economic Area do not require an entry visa.

Students holding passports from all other countries MUST apply for an entry visa through the nearest accredited Irish embassy or honorary consul.
The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) has produced Student Visa Guidelines.

International Reception Desk
When you arrive in Ireland you should make your way to DIT International Reception Desk. Staff in the Reception Desk will be able to provide you with;
- Details of short term accommodation
- Details of Induction and Orientation
- Details of registration and DIT events
- Things to see and do in Dublin
Take the 747 Airlink from the Bus Interchange outside Terminal 1. The bus departs the airport approximately every 15 minutes and takes approximately 30 minutes to get to DIT.

Accommodation
While DIT block-books accommodation with a number of external providers, students are advised to visit any accommodation, check what is included in the fee and the suitability of the location before they enter into a long term agreement. Click here for further details on accommodation.
The International Office has made arrangements for short-term accommodation for when you arrive in Dublin. This accommodation has been inspected by our staff and the locations are close to our main campuses. All of this accommodation is located within walking distance of the International Reception Desk and main campuses.
Please note this is only suitable for short stay (perhaps a few days) until you find longer term accommodation.
