Then the DIT Mature Student Support Service is here to help. These pages contain a store of resources, tips and handy hints to support you during your time here at DIT. There’s information on everything from what financial aid is available to you, study aids, time management and much more. Whether you’re a final year student or have just started first year, the information on these pages will be constantly updated throughout the year, keeping you informed on any forthcoming events and workshops geared specifically towards mature students. Returning to education after a break can sometimes be stressful and often involves a significant change in personal circumstances – anything from a change in your financial situation or a move to a new city. It’s not always an easy transition, but the extensive support services available here in DIT will help you adapt successfully to student life.

Financial Information & Support
Click here for vital information on fees and financial assistance you may be entitled to, including Student Grants, Back To Education Allowance and the DIT Student Assistance Fund. You can also find a full list of contact details for every County & City VEC or Council in Ireland to help you find out where to send your Grant Application form.
Student Counselling Service
Being a Mature Student can sometimes prove to be a challenge - be it academically, financially or emotionally. The DIT Student Counselling Service provides you with a safe space to talk about your personal concerns or about academic difficulties. The DIT Student Counselling Service is free of charge and confidential and is easily accessible. There are no long waiting lists. The Counselling Service is situated in 4 major DIT campus sites and is available to all DIT students - full time, part time, undergrads, post-grads and apprentices. The service is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, term time and holiday time. Click the link below for more information.
DIT Careers Service
The DIT Careers Service is not just for students who are about to graduate - they are there to help you through every step of your journey through DIT. Whether you're unsure about your course, trying to decide what career path to take or starting your search for a job, the Careers Service can assist you. They can help you prepare your CV or job application as well as getting ready for a job interview. They can also offer advice on which postgraduate course to take if you decide to continue your studies after you finish your current course.

DIT Mature Students Society
DIT has a newly-formed Mature Students Society, membership of which is open to any and all Mature Students that wish to join. This includes undergraduates, postgraduates, full-time or part-time. Being a new society, we are only finding our feet in the 2008/09 year, but have still managed to hold several great events so far.
