The programme is aimed at electrical apprentices who wish to develop skills in computer-aided draughting and design.
Content
Hardware and software requirements, DOS functions, use of AutoCAD software package for production of 2-D drawings, scaling, dimensioning, creation of layers, and addition of text.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have a basic knowledge of engineering drawing and preferably be electrical apprentices.
Duration
One night per week (2.5 hours per night) for approximately 8 weeks
How to Apply/Enrol
Completed application forms should be returned to the Department of Electrical Services Engineering (address below) before September 2011. Late applications may be considered should vacancies remain.

Programme Fee (2010/11) *
294 Euros per stage. You must enrol and pay for each stage separately. This programme is subject to demand.
Capitation Fee (2010/11) *
135 Euros
* Please note that 2011/12 fees will be announced late August.
Progression
Required for entry to DT010 / Year 2, subject to demand.
Examinations
Assessments will be conducted on a regular basis during the programme.
Award
Successful participants will receive a Certificate of programme completion and assessments passed.
Career Opportunities
Opportunities exist in drawing offices of consultants and electrical contractors for qualified electricians who possess CAD skills.
