Description

This programme is an opportunity for those currently working in the area of clinical measurement to gain an honours degree qualification by taking Year 4 of the BSc in Clinical Measurement Science on a part-time basis over two years.  Lectures take place on Saturdays during the academic year.

Content

3 modules Advanced Medical Measurement.  Module on one of the major clinical measurements disciplines: Cardiology, Pulmonary, Vascular, Neurophysiology, Intercultural Studies, Project. 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have the following requirements:-

  • Currently working in a clinical measurement science environment

and

  • Hold a certificate in Medical Physics & physiological measurement from DIT, or equivalent

and

  • Have at least 3 years postgraduate experience in a clinical measurement science environment, or equivalent

Duration

Two years part-time. The course will involve lectures and self-directed learning. Lectures will be on 20 full Saturdays during the academic year (6 hours each) with most of them in the September to December period. In addition there is significant self learning and work based learning requirements. (averaged 30 ECTS per year). Course will commence subject to demand.

Completed application forms must be returned to the School of Physics (address listed below) before Monday, 13th June 2011.  Late applications may be considered subject to places being available. Applicants maybe called for interview. 

Programme Fee (2010/11) *

1,250 Euro.

Capitation Fee (2010/11) * 

135 Euro.

* Please note that 2011/12 fees will be announced late August.

Examinations

Combination of written examination and continuous assessment modules.  

Award

BSc in Clinical Measurement of Dublin Institute of Technology with Honours classification.
