How to apply
Print out application for part-time programme and submit to Law Department, DIT Aungier Street, Dublin 2. Indicate number of modules you wish to take.
Entry Requirements
This is an advanced-entry programme, for students who already have some previous third-level education OR 2-3 years of experience in a legal environment. Students lacking these qualifications can enrol on the Foundations in Law programmes offered by DIT.
Examinations / Assessments
Assessment is by a mix of essays, research projects and end-of-term exams.
Progression
Students who successfully complete the BA(Ord) in Law can progress onto the LL.B. degree, a Level 8, Honours degree in law.
Learning Outcome
Students will gain the ability to recognise and apply legal principles in a variety of factual contexts.
Career Opportunities
Students have sat and passed the entrance exams to the Law Society and progressed onto a career as a solicitor, while others have used the BA (Ord) to find or advance a career in business, the public sector, non-governmental organisations or the Gardai.
