Update for week of 06 March 2017

Support the homeless period…

Women who are homeless, living in emergency accommodation, or who are struggling to feed themselves and their children will unfortunately have to make a decision between buying tampons or food. With limited or no access to sanitary products, they're often forced to improvise with other means, or to go without. These women deserve the same basic level of hygiene each month that the majority can afford. This is where The Homeless Period Dublin comes in. The Homeless Period Dublin is a volunteer led campaign asking for donations of sanitary products to share with various frontline services assisting this population.

Petra Hanlon, Access and Civic Engagement, says “DIT Student Union has come on board as donation points for International Women’s day and will be donation points for the week of March 6th – 10th. Colleagues who would like to support this initiative can bring sanitary towels, tampons etc to the donation points.  See our facebook page for more information:  www.facebook.com/thehomelessperioddublin
