Update for week of 18 January 2016

Invitation to input into DIT Strategic Plan 2016-2018 Closes January 29

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to wish you a very happy new year and successful 2016.

Last year ended with good news in respect of progress for the Grangegorman campus development, and the Technological Universities Bill, paving the way for us to continue to work towards our strategic goals in these two significant areas.  Already this year, the TU Bill has completed Committee Stage and will now progress to Report and Final Stage in the Dáil in the coming weeks.

We are currently working to formalise our strategic objectives for the next three years in these two key areas and in all aspects of our academic and support activities.  In doing so it is important that we capture innovative approaches, ideas and suggestions from all colleagues to help to inform and challenge our thinking.  Collectively we can create an inspiring plan that is challenging but also deliverable.  Therefore, I would like to invite all colleagues please to consider providing your input into the DIT Strategic Plan 2016-2018.

Attached is a discussion document that gives some guidance on the feedback being sought, with relevant reference material provided – this is also available on our planning website - Click Here.  The development of the plan is an iterative one and there will be ongoing opportunities for input.  The first deadline for feedback is the end of January and I would be most grateful please if you would give some consideration to the matters and forward your initial feedback to strategic.development@dit.ie by Friday, 29th January 2016.

Please remember that as the plan rolls out there will be additional opportunities for engagement through the PMDS framework, i.e. Team Development planning (TDPs), actions for discussion at PDP meetings etc.  – I would encourage all colleagues to please participate in these opportunities as they emerge.

Meanwhile, thank you for your attention and your input.

Kind Regards,

Brian
