Update for week of 20 March 2017

‌All Aboard 2017: national initiative for digital skills learning 03-07 April

From debunking fake news to staying safe online and with a few surprises thrown in, DIT’s Digital Skills and Research Hub (DSRH) presents a week-long series of lunchtime and evening events, 3–7 April, designed to help build confidence in digital literacy skills among students, staff and the wider community.

If you want to learn more about avoiding identity theft and controlling your personal web presence, want to experience virtual reality and 3D printing or simply want to make the most of common tools such as Microsoft and Google, then you’ll find something of interest.

The sessions are designed to appeal to the entire DIT community, with talks from experts from industry and academia, and a few surprises thrown in for good measure. There’s also a daily opportunity to win an iPad mini.

DIT’s full programme and booking details can be accessed online at http://dit.ie/lttc/workshops/allaboard2017/

The week is part of All Aboard 2017, a national initiative co-run by The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Ireland’s higher education institutions, and includes a series of national and regional public events – fun activities, workshops, competitions, challenges, experiments, public lectures and much more are all are on offer.
