DIT is committed, within the limit of its resources, to facilitate access and participation to all buildings within the Institute. The Institute recognises that the age and design of some of its buildings present a number of constraints to students with disabilities.
There are wheelchair accessible toilets available in most of the buildings. In addition, rest-room facilities are made available in some of the DIT centres, and the car parking needs of other students with disabilities can be addressed in conjunction with the Disability Liaison Officer.
There is at present no residential accommodation within the Institute but an accommodation list is available from the Student Services Office, which details a number of student flats / digs with various adaptations for special needs. The selection of the accommodation, and the terms of agreement or contract, is entirely a matter between the individual student and the householder or owner.
