DIT College of Business were proud to host the 41st Countess Markievicz Memorial Lecture by Professor Jacqueline O'Reilly University of Sussex , Brighton on” Strategic Transition for Youth Labour in Europe: Flexibility, Families and Flights”
The Countess Markievicz Memorial Lecture was established by the Irish Association for Industrial Relations with the support of the Department of Labour. Countess Markievicz was first Minister for Labour of the newly independent Irish State, the second woman in the world to hold a cabinet position. The object of the Memorial Lecture is to provide an occasion for a substantive contribution to discussion in the Industrial Relations area by a distinguished practitioner or academic. Many high profile speakers have given the lecture in the past including former President Mary Robinson, Bertie Ahern, Des Geraghty, John Kelly, Bill Roche and Paul Teague.
