Retail Symposium 2019- Thinking Outside the Box: Retail Formats for 21st Retailing
18 January 2019
The 13th annual College of Business Retail Management Symposium, takes place the 5th to the 7th of February as part of the MBS in Retail Management with this year’s focus on the key issues pertaining to the development of new and imaginative retail formats for the 21st century consumer
Retailers are constantly challenged to create and deliver new retail formats that reflect emerging retail trends and deliver enhanced customer experience. The need to provide a retail environment that is not only experiential, but also re-enforces the core values of the brand is paramount, allied to the need to create social and community space around the brand. Building back end infrastructures to provide for increased consumer demand and exceptional customer experiences has become a requisite core competency for retail success. New technology infra structures will be critical to the delivery of this customer experience, and retailers need to think outside the box to deliver innovative solutions for an increasingly demanding consumer.
The symposium will be host to an eclectic mix of views from senior retail executives, public policy makers, and international retail academics on issues pertaining to the development of new retail formats. The audience will primarily consist of TU Dublin post-graduate students, PhD students, academic staff, and many of TU Dublin's corporate retail partners. International post graduate students are welcome from partner universities with zero fee implications. This year, we are happy to host professors and students from the University of Parma in Italy for a fourth consecutive year.
