Out of Hours

The student Health Service in DIT is available Monday to Friday during *term time from 9 to 1 pm  and 2 to 5pm.

The Student Health Service in DIT does not provide an evening or weekend service and is not available for home visits.  

Outside of the above hours students can see their own / local GP (Find a GP) or in an emergency go to their nearest Accident and Emergency Department.  (Find a hospital). At the start of term students are advised to routinely locate a local G.P. in case they require out of hours / out of terms time medical attention.

Out of Term Time

Out of term time the College Nurses are available to see patients during specified hours : 10.00 - 12.00 and 14.00 - 16.00 Mon-Fri (provided College is open).

If you need to see a College Doctor, they work from their private practice in Ranelagh and offer a reduced fee of €45 (for General Consultations) to DIT students (free for medical card holders) on presentation of a valid student card  http://www.belgraveclinic.com/

Choose the right treatment

If it is not a life-threatening emergency and you, or the person you are with, do not need immediate medical attention, consider other options before you dial 999:

  • Look after yourself or the patient at home. If you cannot stay at home, see if family or friends are able to help.
  • Talk to your local pharmacist.
  • Visit or call your GP.
  • Make your own way to your hospital emergency department
