Overview

Module Description

The BIM Electrical module is in response to an AEC industry need for BIM skilled personnel. It is aimed at level seven students wanting to up-skill in the area of BIM Technologies. This module is designed to take student engineers, with no previous BIM experience, to a level where they are adept with the use of BIM software and can carry out complex tasks within the graphical user interface.

Indicative Syllabus

Organisation of the graphic user interface (GUI).
Hierarchy of commands & sub commands on the GUI.
Linking CAD drawings.
Levels and grids
Creating a 3D model with walls, floors, doors, windows and roofs.
Family editor
Electrical systems
Tagging
Visibility control.
Scheduling.
Import families/ creating template files
Plotting.
